Compatibility Issues.

...DID YOU KNOW?....the NES action replay pro actually
REQUIRES the game genie (both devices 'hitched on'
together) in order to play most games.
when I first tried to use the AR pro, most games could not load.
but I learned, I can simply hitch the game genie on to the ar pro,
and the game genie actually works as a conterter which makes
the AR pro compatible with U.S. NTSC systems.
and believe it or not.....both cheat devices were
also compatible with the GAR. but you had to widen your
NES shell to accomodate all devices. unfortunately though,
there were also a few games which only worked if the
devices were not hitched together. that's when i had to put
2 NES systems beside one another...
now, to add to the confusion, the game genie and AR pro 'patch
codes' have NOT translated successfully together to the computer
Emus. thus, your system is likely to crash unless you turn
the game genie feature OFF. so, please keep the game genie OFF unless
you absolutely need it for that particular game. note: if the ROM
(ROM is a term for 'pirated game'.)
crashes, you must exit the emulator, and then re-click, and
start up the EMu all over again. in other words, you cannot simply
exit that particular ROM if the Emu crashes. you must exit the
entire Emu, then re- start it...............
did you also know ??? the game genie does not work on the
NES top loading model. Nintendo of America deliberately made
it such that the game genie wouldn't fit into their new model.
fortunately though, Nintendo of America wasn't aware of the
AR pro for n.e.s. this device works with the top loader.
oh, by the way, just for the fun of it, I removed the casing for
my game genie, and stuck the GG computer chip inside the top
loading NES, and it worked just fine.
both the game genie and the AR pro work with the Super 8
converter as well. (the super 8 plays both NES and SNES games).
however, it's somewhat of a tight fit. so, you shouldn't remove it.
